Summer may soon be drawing to an end, but CMT is still bringing the heat with five days of special Labor Day programming beginning Thursday, August 28. The extended weekend includes seven hours of new original premieres from such CMT favorites as PARTY DOWN SOUTH, BROKEN SKULL CHALLENGE and DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADERS: MAKING THE TEAM, along with the network debut of FEAR FACTOR.
Labor Day weekend kicks off early with hilarious antics from the cast of
Party Down South when an all-day marathon airs Thursday, August 28, beginning at 10 a.m. ET/PT, and concludes with the season two finale at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The marathon includes four all-new "fan edition" episodes with bonus content airing from 4 - 8 p.m. ET/PT. Fans that haven't had enough of the outrageous Southerners can catch a special cast reunion, PARTY DOWN SOUTH:
The After PARTY, premiering immediately after the finale at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
Texas comes to
CMT on Friday. The network starts the day devoted to country legend and Texas-bred George Strait with a special one-hour block of videos featuring the star on Friday, August 29 at 11 a.m. ET/PT. Immediately afterward,
CMT will air two back-to-back telecasts of "Pure Country," the feature film starring Strait, beginning at noon ET/PT, leading into the world premiere of Strait's two-hour farewell concert special, THE COWBOY RIDES AWAY, at 7 p.m. ET/PT. An all-new episode of
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team season nine immediately follows the special at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
CMT viewers can find action-packed programming the rest of the weekend. On Saturday, August 30, an all-new episode of
Dog and Beth: On the Hunt season two premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Sunday includes a best of
Cops Reloaded marathon beginning at 2 p.m. ET/PT, followed by a new episode of CMT's extreme competition series
Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The weekend concludes with programming fit for thrill-seekers - a full season marathon of
Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge on Monday, September 1 from 2 p.m. - 11 p.m. ET/PT, immediately followed by two full hours of the network premiere of FEAR FACTOR at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by comedian Joe Rogan, FEAR FACTOR, which originally aired on
NBC from 2001-2006, is a standalone reality game show that pits contestants against one another in a variety of stunts for a grand prize of $50,000.
