Content creator, producer, and actor Maxie Solters has partnered with REVRY, the world's first LGBTQ+ streaming service, to release CLIMAX! The Series. The comedic webisodes follow sex therapist, Sarah Dickmann (played by Solters), as she opens her own practice and attracts a gaggle of crazy clients. Through her pulsating methods, mostly involving vibrators, Sarah restores and enhances her clientele's sexual energy in this bare all, provocative, hilarious, and seductive new web series.
By partnering with REVRY, Solters, a graduate of the prestigious University of Southern California School of Theatre, continues her mission of bringing sex to the forefront in a positive, fun, supportive light, especially with strong female characters like Sarah. "I'm starting a dialogue so people know there is no shame in owning your sexuality," said Solters.
Since the show is a comedy, a large audience is reached by focusing on the laughter rather than the "taboo." Maxie's hope is that eventually everyone can be as comfortable saying words such as vagina, penis, and vibrator, as they are talking about what they ate for breakfast.
Solters, an outside the box thinker, anticipates her new series could be just the thing to set her apart from the Hollywood Wannabes. Content creation has become the best way to get your foot in the door, and though her method may seem unconventional, she's sure to score on people's radar.
The concept for Maxie's videos is the result of years working with V-Day International, producing and performing in The Vagina Monologues on an annual basis to raise awareness and funds to stop violence against women and girls. During her time at the University of Southern California, she ran a special event featuring Eve Ensler, activist and author of The Vagina Monologues, and Dr. Denis Mukwege, a Congolese gynecologist who works in Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, where he specializes in the treatment of women who have been gang-raped by REBEL forces. More than 1,000 people from all over the world were in attendance.
Maxie founded her own campaign, V-Day Studio City, and supports St. John's Transgender Health Program, Planned Parenthood, A Window Between Worlds, and Peace Over Violence, organizations committed to ending sexual and domestic violence.
Giving back is also an important part of REVRY's culture. In addition to streaming top quality original and licensed series that reflect the diverse LGBTQ+ community, the service hosts short films for Lambda Legal, the LGBTQ+ legal advocacy not-for-profit. REVRY sponsors pride events, film festivals (such as Outfest and Inside Out), and queer historical organizations such as The Lavender Effect.
