CHRISTIAN BALE to Play Steve Jobs in Upcoming Big Screen Pic

According to The Wrap, Christian Bale is David Fincher's top choice to portray Steve Jobs in the new film adaptation of the history of Apple, written by Aaron Sorkin. The film will revolve around three of Apple's biggest launches: the Mac, the NeXT, and the iPod.

Fincher recently met with Sony's Amy Pascal to discuss directing the film, despite the rocky relationship formed between them during the making of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". However, one insider confirmed that Pascal respects him as a filmmaker, and believes in his ideas and work. On the issue of directing, Fincher is said to only be on board with the project if Christian Bale were to play Jobs.

Due to his physical resemblence to the Apple co-founder, Christian Bale has been a popular choice to portray Jobs since the film was announced.

Sorkin's script will be based upon Walter Issacson's bestselling authorized biography, a book that used 40 interviews Issacson had with Jobs and his colleagues.

Production is expected to begin either later this year or early 2015, for both Fincher and Bale are busy promoting other projects; "Gone Girl" and "Exodus", respectively.

Though 2013's "Jobs" starring Ashton Kutcher wasn't as popular at the box office as most had hoped (grossing only 35 million worldwide), Sony is confident the nation remains interested in the man who developed some of the most popular products in our country today.
