CHESS IN CONCERT, Starring Menzel, Groban, Pascal & More, Will Screen In UK & Ireland Cinemas Sept 5-10

CHESS IN CONCERT, starring Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal and Marti Pellow, will be screen in cinemas across the United Kingdom and Ireland beginning in September.

More2Screen and Warner Music International will present the film, which will screen September 5-10 at 27 cinemas.

"The music and story of Chess has a place in many people's hearts and memories, and we're delighted to be working with Warner Music International to be reviving it in its 25th anniversary year. The phenomenal success of 'Mamma Mia!' shows the potential for musicals in cinema, and we hope Chess in Concert will delight its many existing fans, as well as finding some new ones, when it plays on the big screen this summer," said Christine Costello, Managing Director, More2Screen.

The film is introduced by Sir Tim Rice, Directed by Hugh Wooldridge, and adapted by Rice and Wooldridge.

From the writers of the internationAl Blockbuster 'MAMMA MIA' (ABBA'S Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson) comes the spectacular musical Chess in Concert from the Royal Albert Hall. Leading the cast is international singing star Josh Groban who has sold over 23 million records, with Broadway stars Idina Menzel (Wicked) and Adam Pascal (Rent) and chart topping Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow as The Arbiter. Also featured are the Chess in Concert company, the 100 strong West End Chorus and the City of London Philharmonic. Chess involves a romantic triangle between two chess players in a World Chess Championship, and the woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. The characters are loosely based on those of Victor Korchnoi and the late Bobby Fischer. With a stellar cast and incredible music, this is a must see production of the famous musical.
