CBS's FACE THE NATION Posts Largest Q1 Audience Since 1987

CBS News' FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs for the first quarter 2016 most current with 4.07m viewers. FACE THE NATION was second in adults 25-54 (0.9/04) in among the Sunday morning public affairs programs. FACE THE NATION was first in viewers for the fourth consecutive first quarter. FACE THE NATION was up +15% in viewers (from 3.55m) and +13% in adults 25-54 (from 0.8/04) compared to first quarter 2015.

In first quarter 2016, FACE THE NATION posted its best adults 25-54 rating since 2009 and largest first quarter audience since the advent of people meters. FACE THE NATION posted viewer gains in each first quarter since 2011. FACE THE NATION posted more than four million viewers for the first time in a first quarter since the advent of people meters.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.79m) and second in adults 25-54 (0.8/04, tied). Compared to last season, FACE THE NATION is up +9% in viewers (from 3.46m) and even in adults 25-54.

The March 27 broadcast featured the latest on the Brussels terror attacks, with interviews with Secretary of State John Kerry and House Homeland Security Chairman Sen. Michael McCaul (R-TX). Host John Dickerson also spoke with New York Police Department Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism John Miller. The broadcast included a conversation on security concerns in the United States with CBS News Senior Security Contributor and former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell; Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic; and Farah Pandith of the Council on Foreign Relations. This week's political panel included Goldberg; CBS News Political Analyst and Slate Magazine Chief Political Correspondent Jamelle Bouie; Susan Page of USA Today; and Ben Domenech of The Federalist.
