CBS's FACE THE NATION Finishes First in May Sweep

In the 2014-2015 television season, CBS News' FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers (3.42m) and adults 25-54 (0.8/04), according to Nielsen most current ratings. Compared to last season, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in viewers (from 3.27m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/04). FACE THE NATION posted its largest audience since the advent of people meters and matched the last three seasons in adults 25-54.

In the May 2015 sweep, FACE THE NATION is up +13% in viewers (3.24m from 2.88m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.7/04) compared to last May, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION posted its largest May sweep audience since the advent of people meters (1987) and matched the last two May sweeps in adults 25-54.

On May 17, FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers (3.14m) according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. The broadcast beat its closest competitor by +360,000 viewers. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 76.3% of the CBS affiliates. Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +9% in viewers (from 2.88m).

The May 17 broadcast featured interviews with Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI), Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), Rep. David Nunes (R-CA) and NTSB member Robert Sumwalt. Host Bob Schieffer then spoke to former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. FACE THE NATION's panel of analysts included Peggy Noonan of Wall Street Journal; David Ignatius of The Washington Post; and Frank Rich of New York Magazine. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer of the Emmy-award winning FACE THE NATION, one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television.
