CBS's FACE THE NATION Finishes First in Adults 25-54

CBS News' FACE THE NATION was first in viewers (3.36m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (0.7/03) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for March 15. FACE THE NATION beat its closest competitor by 660,000 viewers and is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 57% of the CBS affiliates.

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in viewers (3.49m from 3.31m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/04). Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers and adults 25-54.

The March 15 broadcast of FACE THE NATION featured CBS News State Department Correspondent Margaret Brennan's interview with Secretary of State John Kerry, plus appearances by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD). Host Bob Schieffer also spoke to NAACP President Cornell William Brooks and President of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund Sherrilyn Ifill. Face the Nation's panel of analysts included Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, Susan Page of USA Today, John Heilemann of BLOOMBERG POLITICS and Peter Baker of The New York Times.

FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer. The Emmy-winning program, FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 40 years covering government and politics. He has anchored FACE THE NATION since 1991. Guests include government leaders, politicians and global figures in the news.
