CBS's FACE THE NATION Finishes First in Adults 25-54

CBS News' FACE THE NATION posted 3.33m viewers and 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 28. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 53% of the CBS affiliates. FACE THE NATION was delayed in New York City due to airing of the Tunnel to Towers Run.

FACE THE NATION tied for first in adults 25-54 among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.

FACE THE NATION posted its best audience delivery since March 30, 2014. Compared to last year, FACE THE NATION is up +10% in viewers (from 3.02m) and even in adults 25-54.

The Sept. 28 broadcast of FACE THE NATION featured an excerpt of 60 MINUTES' interview with President Obama. Host, Bob Schieffer then interviewed White House National Security Advisor Tony Blinken and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA). FACE THE NATION's experts panel featured analysis from Michèle Flournoy of the Center for New American Security; General Carter Ham, former head of the U.S. Africa Command; and CBS News Senior Security contributor Mike Morell, former deputy director of the CIA. During the second half of the show, Schieffer hosted a panel of journalists to discuss the week's news including Kim Strassel of The Wall Street Journal, Peter Baker of The New York Times, Michael Gerson of The Washington Post, Ruth Marcus of The Washington Post, and Michael Crowley of TIME.

FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer. FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television, now celebrating its 60th year on air. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 40 years covering government and politics. He has anchored FACE THE NATION since 1991. Guests include government leaders, politicians and global figures in the news.
