CBS News' FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers, adults 25-54, and beat its nearest competitor by nearly half a million viewers (+450,000), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 10. FACE THE NATION posted its season's second-best performance in viewers and adults 25-54, behind Jan. 3 in both measures.
FACE THE NATION delivered 4.29 million viewers and 1.0/04 in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news.
Compared to the same day last year,
FACE THE NATION was up +15% in viewers (from 3.74m) and up +25% in adults 25-54 (from 0.8/03).
Season-to-date,
FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.65m). Compared to last season,
FACE THE NATION is up +7% in viewers (from 3.42m).
The Jan. 10 broadcast featured interviews with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Republican presidential candidates Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Host John Dickerson also traveled to South Carolina to speak with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan on the topic of poverty in America. This week's political panel included Ed O'Keefe of The Washington Post; Susan Page of
USA Today;
CBS News Political Analyst and Slate Chief Political Correspondent Jamelle Bouie; and
CBS News Contributor and Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan.
