CBS's FACE THE NATION Delivers More Than 4 Million Viewers

CBS News' FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program with 4.07 million viewers on Jan. 15, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION was also second in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, delivering 0.8/04 (-0.1 behind NBC). (Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 80.6% of the CBS affiliates.)

FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers television year-to-date, according to Nielsen most current ratings. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is averaging 3.88 million viewers (up +6%, from 3.68m) and 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 (up +14%, from 0.7/04). FACE THE NATION added +200,000 viewers compared to last year and posted its best season-to-date delivery in viewers in at least 29 years (since the advent of people meters in 1987).

The Jan. 15 broadcast opened with an interview with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, followed by interviews with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Newt Gingrich, vice chair of the Trump Transition and former speaker of the House of Representatives. Next, Dickerson interviewed The Washington Post's David Ignatius. The political roundtable featured The Federalist's Ben Domenech; The Washington Post's Ruth Marcus; Bloomberg's John Heilemann; and The Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe.
