CBS THIS MORNING is the only network morning news broadcast to post year-to-year gains in viewers (+9%, 3.78m from 3.48m), women 25-54 (+22%, 1.1/08 from 0.9/07), women 18-49 (+17%, 0.7/07 from 0.6/06) and adults 25-54 (+13%, 0.9/08 from 0.8/07), when compared to a year ago, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 20.
CBS THIS MORNING gained +300,000 viewers compared to the same week last year, cut the deficit with
ABC by 610,000 viewers and closed the viewership gap with
NBC by 400,000 viewers.
ABC posted year-to-year declines across-the-board for the week ending May 20: -6% in viewers, -13% in adults 25-54, -10% in women 18-49 and -14% in women 25-54, compared to last year.
NBC is also down in key measures: -2% in viewers, -5% in women 25-54 and -7% in women 18-49, compared to last year.
Season-to-date,
CBS THIS MORNING is the only network morning news broadcast to post gains, while
ABC and
NBC decline, according to Nielsen most current ratings.
CBS THIS MORNING is up +8% in viewers (3.67m from 3.39m), +17% in women 18-49 (0.7/06 from 0.6/06) and +11% in women 25-54 (1.0/07 from 0.9/07) compared to last season.
CBS THIS MORNING is even in adults 25-54 (0.9/07) compared to last season.
ABC delivered declines in key measures: -9% in viewers, -18% in adults 25-54, -14% in women 25-54 and -13% in women 18-49, compared to last season.
NBC is also down across-the-board: -3% in viewers, -6% in adults 25-54, -5% in women 25-54 and -7% in women 18-49 compared to last season.
CBS THIS MORNING has delivered year-over-year audience growth for 43 consecutive months while
ABC has declined 24 consecutive months and
NBC has declined 23 consecutive months.
ABC has not experienced year-over-year monthly gains since April 2014 and
NBC has not posted gains since May 2014.
