CBS THIS MORNING is the only network morning news broadcast to add viewers year-to-year (+1%, 3.75m from 3.72m) while ABC and NBC show declines, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 22. CBS THIS MORNING also posted double-digit percentage gains in women 25-54 (+22%, 1.1/08 from 0.9/07) and maintained its women 18-49 (0.7/07) and adults 25-54 (0.9/07) ratings compared to last year. ABC posted year-to-year declines across the board for the week ending April 22: -4% in viewers, -7% in adults 25-54, -5% in women 25-54 and -8% women 18-49 compared to last year. NBC is also down: -3% in viewers, -5% in women 25-54 and -7% in women 18-49 compared to same week last year.
Season-to-date,
CBS THIS MORNING is the only network morning news broadcast to grow its audience and post gains in key demographics while
ABC and
NBC decline, according to Nielsen most current ratings.
CBS THIS MORNING is up +9% in viewers (3.65m from 3.36m), +11% in women 25-54 (1.0/07 from 0.9/07), +17% in women 18-49 (0.7/06 from 0.6/05) and even in adults 25-54 (0.9/07) compared to last season.
ABC delivered double-digit percentage declines in key measures: -10% in viewers, -18% in adults 25-54, -14% in women 25-54 and -13% in women 18-49 compared to last season.
NBC is also down: -4% in viewers, -6% in adults 25-54, -5% in women 25-54 and -13% in women 18-49 compared to last season.
CBS THIS MORNING has grown its audience for 43 consecutive months while
ABC has declined 24 consecutive months and
NBC has declined 23 consecutive months in year-over-year comparisons.
ABC has not experienced year-over-year monthly gains since April 2014 and
NBC has not posted gains since May 2014.
