CBS THIS MORNING posted year-to-year gains this week among viewers (+12%, 3.53m from 3.14m) and key demos including adults 25-54 (+13%, 0.9/08 from 0.8/07), women 25-54 (+22%, 1.1/08 from 0.9/07), and women 18-49 (+33%, 0.8/07 from 0.6/06) compared to a year ago, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Jan.1. Editor's note: This week's numbers for all three network morning news broadcasts represent a three-day (Monday-Wednesday) average due to the New Year's holiday. The year-ago comparison number represents a two-day (Monday-Tuesday) average for all three broadcasts.
CBS THIS MORNING gained +390,000 viewers compared to the same week last year and closed the viewership gap with
NBC by over a quarter of a million (270,000) viewers, and cut the deficit with
ABC by 220,000 viewers. This week marks the closest competitive position to
NBC for a
CBS MORNING NEWS broadcast in more than twenty one years. This week also marks
CBS THIS MORNING's highest women 18-49 rating since the week ending Feb. 14, 2014.
Season-to-date,
CBS THIS MORNING is up +8% in viewers (3.48m from 3.23m) and up +13% in adults 25-54 (0.9/08 from 0.8/07) compared to last year.

CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY posted 2.39m viewers and 0.6/04 in adults 25-54 according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 2.
