For the week ending May 8, CBS THIS MORNING was the only network morning news broadcast to post year-to-year gains in adults 25-54 (+13%, 0.9/07 from 0.8/06), the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, viewers (+10%, 3.54m from 3.21m), and women 18-49 (+17%, 0.7/06 from 0.6/05), according to Nielsen live plus same-day ratings.
CBS THIS MORNING added +330,000 viewers, closing the viewership gap with NBC by 620,000 viewers compared to the year before. For the third consecutive week, this marks the closest competitive position to the TODAY show for a CBS morning news broadcast in more than 20 years (since the week ending 12/30/1994).
Season-to-date, CBS THIS MORNING is delivering its largest audience in over two decades (since the 1993-1994 television season), and continues to be the only network morning news program to post viewer gains (+8%, 3.37m from 3.11m) and the only program to maintain its adults 25-54 rating (0.9/07) compared to last season.
CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY
On May 9, CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY posted double-digit year-to-year percentage gains in viewers (+13%, 1.99m from 1.77m) compared to the year before, according to Nielsen live plus same-day ratings. CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY added +227,000 viewers compared to last year, closing the gap with NBC by 140,000 viewers.
Season-to-date, CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY is up +20% in adults 25-54 (0.6/04 from 0.5/04), the demographic most important to those who advertise in news, and +8% in viewers (2.11m from 1.96m), and is the only Saturday morning network news broadcast posting gains in either measure.
