CBS THIS MORNING posted CBS's best fourth quarter morning news audience delivery in at least 29 years, according to Nielsen most current ratings for the quarter. This marks the fifth consecutive fourth quarter of year-over-year audience growth.
CBS THIS MORNING was also the only morning news broadcast to post growth in viewers and women 25-54, compared to fourth quarter 2015.
The broadcast, which on Jan. 9 celebrates its fifth anniversary, has dramatically increased CBS's morning audience -- averaging more than one million more viewers today compared to fourth quarter 2011.
CBS is in its closest competitive position with
NBC in the time period in at least 29 years and closest with
ABC in 18 years.
CBS was nearly three million viewers away from the #1 morning show in fourth quarter 2011 and today is less than one million viewers away.
CBS THIS MORNING during the fourth quarter delivered 3.69 million viewers (up +6% from 3.48m) and a 1.1 rating with women 25-54 (up +10% from 1.0 rating). During the same period,
NBC has declined -1% in viewers and -5% in women 25-54, while
ABC has dropped -6% in viewers and -6% in women 25-54.
CBS THIS MORNING was launched on Jan. 9, 2012 and has delivered year-over-year audience growth for 50 consecutive months while
ABC has not experienced year-over-year monthly gains since April 2014.
CBS THIS MORNING is the fastest growing network broadcast morning show and is CBS's most successful morning broadcast in nearly three decades.
