CBS THIS MORNING today is launching a CAMPAIGN 2016 series called "Issues That Matter," which provides a forum to talk with experts and newsmakers about the issues voters care about most, including education, national security, foreign policy, healthcare and the economy.
An ongoing series through the election, the first installment kicks off today featuring original reporting and analysis on candidate positions on key areas of foreign policy. Co-hosts Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell will sit with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to discuss the challenges the next president will face. The program will also look in-depth at other issues including national security with former N.S.A. Director Michael Hayden and education with former Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, among others. Major Garrett, Margaret Brennan, Nancy Cordes and other
CBS News correspondents will provide original reporting for the series.
"This is another example of how
CBS THIS MORNING is continuing to cut through the clutter and drill down on the issues the viewers tell us they care about," said Ryan Kadro, executive producer of
CBS THIS MORNING. "I am gratified that people are responding to this kind of substantive storytelling as shown by our growing audience."
