CBS THIS MORNING delivered CBS its best competitive position in viewers to NBC in the morning news race in at least 29 years, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 17. The CBS News broadcast was also the only broadcast morning news program to post year-to-year gains in viewers and adults 25-54 for the week. ABC and NBC each posted declines in both categories.
CBS THIS MORNING was up +7% in viewers (3.61m from 3.37m) and up +13% in adults 25-54 (0.9/8 from 0.8/07) for the week when compared to the same week a year ago. At the same time,
ABC was down -5% in viewers and -8% in adults 25-54, while
NBC was off -8% in viewers and -7% in adults 25-54.
CBS THIS MORNING is also the only broadcast network morning news program up season-to-date in viewers. The broadcast is up +2% from this point last season (3.7m from 3.64m).
ABC is down -7% and
NBC is down -5% during the same time period.
