CBS Sweeps Thursday as Entire Lineup Posts Growth

CBS's started the new year with a bang as its entire Thursday lineup, led by THE BIG BANG THEORY, posted growth in key demographics from their last original episodes, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Jan. 2.

THE BIG BANG THEORY was #1 in viewers (18.93m), adults 25-54 (7.2/18) and adults 18-49 (5.3/15), the night's top broadcast in these measures. Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 12), The Big Bang Theory was up +7% in adults 25-54 (from 6.7/19), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 5.1/16) and added +1.25m viewers (from 17.68m, +7%). The Big Bang Theory posted its largest audience and best adults 18-49 rating since Nov. 21, 2013 and its best adults 25-54 delivery since the Sept. 26 season premiere.


THE MILLERS was #1 in viewers (11.55m), adults 25-54 (4.3/10) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08). The Millers was up +19% in adults 25-54 (from 3.6/09), +12% in adults 18-49 (from 2.6/08) and added +620,000 viewers (from 10.93m, +6%) compared to the last first-run episode on Dec. 12. The Millers posted its largest audience November 21, 2013 and its best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 ratings since Oct. 17, 2013.

THE CRAZY ONES was #1 in viewers (8.24m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.0/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 12), The Crazy Ones was up +11% in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/07), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/05) and added +370,000 viewers (from 7.87m, +5%).

TWO AND A HALF MEN was #1 in viewers (8.55m), adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.1/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec.12), Two and a Half Men was up +7% in adults 25-54 (from 2.8/07) and +11% in adults 18-49 (from 1.9/05).

At 10PM, Elementary was #1 in viewers (8.92m), adults 25-54 (2.6/06) and adults 18-49 (1.8/05). Compared to the last first-run episode (on Dec. 12), Elementary was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.5/07) and +6% in adults 18-49 (from 1.7/05).

For the night, CBS was #1 in viewers (10.85m), adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/07) opposite premieres and first-run programming on the competition.
