CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD was the #1 Sunday morning news program with adults 25-54 - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news - as well as viewers and households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for October 6, 2013.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING posted a 3.7/10 with 5.35m viewers and a 1.3/07 in adults 25-54. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +8% in viewers (from 4.93m) and up +6% in households (from 3.5/09), and even in adults 25-54.

Season-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +6% in households (3.7/10 from 3.5/09), +7% in viewers (5.32m from 4.98m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.3/07) compared to last year.
Sunday's broadcast featured David Martin's interview with Captain Richard Phillips, who was at the helm of an American cargo ship hijacked by Somali pirates, and actor Tom Hanks, who plays Phillips in a new film based on the incident. The broadcast also included Bill Geist's chat with artist Barney Smith, who uses toilet seats as his canvas; Martha Teichner's profile of artist and Cumberland Island, GA resident Gogo Ferguson; Anthony Mason's report on a new Broadway production based on the life of the late Janis Joplin; and Lee Cowan's story on new information indicating the role of women aiding the Nazis during the Holocaust was more widespread that originally suggested.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING is broadcast Sundays (9:00-10:30 AM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. Rand Morrison is the executive producer.
