CBS SUNDAY MORNING, the nation's #1 Sunday morning news program, posted year-to-year audience growth, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for June 18. Jane Pauley anchored the Father's Day broadcast, which delivered 5.20 million viewers (up +3% from 5.06m the same week last year) and a 0.8/05 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news.

Sunday's broadcast featured Ted Koppel's look at why Americans have such opposing political views; Mo Rocca's visit to the Montana site of the Battle of Little Big Horn for a new look at the life and legacy of George Armstrong Custer; Tony Dokoupil's look at how millennial fathers are different from the fathers of previous generations; Anthony Mason's story on the 50th anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival; Seth Doane's interview with classical pianist Lang Lang; Jim Gaffigan's thoughts on his beard; Steve Hartman's essay on how he wished members of Congress followed the sportsmanship rules of Little Leaguers; and updates on the Bill Cosby and Massachusetts suicide text cases from DeMarco Morgan and Erin Moriarty.
