CBS SUNDAY MORNING's "Eat, Drink & Be Merry" edition delivered more than 6.1 million viewers and was the #1 Sunday morning news program with viewers and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Nov. 20.
The food-themed broadcast anchored by Jane Pauley delivered 6.18 million viewers and a 1.3/07 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same week a year ago,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +6% with viewers (from 5.84m) and even in adults 25-54.
Television season-to-date,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is delivering 5.87 million viewers (up +6% from 5.52m) and a 1.2/06 with adults 25-54 (up +9% from 1.1/06).
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is the #1 Sunday morning news program in both measures.
And in the November 2016 sweep,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING delivered 5.92m viewers and 1.2/06 in adults 25-54, finishing as the #1 Sunday morning news program in these measures. Compared to last November,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +5% in viewers (from 5.64m) and even in adults 25-54.
The Nov. 20 broadcast featured Anna Werner's cover story on how the online world is changing how people shop for groceries. Also featured on the broadcast was Tracy Smith's story about a husband and wife's dream to open an Atlanta restaurant and how the community rallied around them when the husband was diagnosed with stage-four cancer.
The broadcast also included Mark Phillips' interview with supermodel Christie Brinkley who has her own line of Prosecco; John Blackstone's report on how the restaurant at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art presents meals like artwork; Mo Rocca's profile of a Benedictine nun with a doctorate in microbiology who makes coveted cheese at an abbey in Bethlehem, Conn.; Faith Salie's visit to the Danish restaurant NOMA - named best in the world several times - and its chef Rene Redzepi; Serena Altschul's trio of pieces about foods that were once considered bad for your health and are now considered good; Lee Cowan's report from Hawaii where the spice turmeric is being harvested; Jim Axelrod's segment on the 10 restaurants that changed the way people eat; Jan Crawford's report about a restaurant in
NASHVILLE known for spicy hot chicken; and Michelle Miller's story about Toni Tipton-Martin, whose personal collection of more than 300 rare and historic cookbooks by African American chefs became an award-winning book called The Jemima Code.
