CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD delivered more than 6 million viewers for the sixth time this season, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Feb. 2, 2014. CBS SUNDAY MORNING was the #1 Sunday morning news program in adults 25-54 - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news - as well as viewers.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING posted 6.51m viewers and a 1.7/08 in adults 25-54. The broadcast posted its seventh largest audience since the advent of people meters (September 1987) and best adults 25-54 ratings since Feb. 17, 2013. Compared to the same day last year,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +10% in households (from 4.0/11), +11% in viewers (from 5.88m) and +6% in adults 25-54 (from 1.6/07).
Season-to-date,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +6% in viewers (5.95m from 5.63m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.5/07) compared to last season.
Sunday's broadcast featured Mark Strassmann's cover story on the legacy of The Beatles, 50 years after their first U.S. tour; Anthony Mason's interviews with musicians profoundly impacted by The Beatles; Lee Cowan's interview with Academy Award-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor; Rita Braver's profile of
Super Bowl and New York Jets legend Joe Namath; Mo Rocca's report on what goes into making great chicken wings; and Bill Geist's look at the magazine Bowlers Journal.
