CBS Places 1st in Scripted Series Viewers for 4th Consecutive Week

CBS placed first in viewers for the fourth consecutive week with eight of the top 10 scripted series and BIG BROTHER, which saw all three editions post year-to-year increases, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending July 18, week 43 of the 2009-2010 television year.

For the week in viewers: CBS (6.03m), FOX (5.60m), NBC (5.13m) and ABC (5.02m). Summer-to-date, CBS (6.47m) leads ABC (6.23m), NBC (5.45m) and FOX (5.20m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in adults 25-54 (1.9/06) and averaged 1.3/04 in adults 18-49.

For the week in households: CBS (3.9/07), FOX (3.5/06), NBC and ABC (3.2/06, each). Summer-to-date, CBS is first (4.2/08), ahead of ABC (3.9/07), NBC (3.4/06) and FOX (3.2/06).

BIG BROTHER

? BIG BROTHER WEDNESDAY (P) was first in adults 25-54 (2.7/09) and adults 18-49 (2.3/08); it was second in households (3.9/07), viewers (6.38m) and adults 18-34 (1.8/07). Compared to the corresponding BIG BROTHER 11 broadcast last year (BIG BROTHER 11 TUESDAY (P) on July 14, 2009 at 9PM), CBS was up +4% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/07), +10% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/06), +6% in adults 18-34 (from 1.7/06) and added +200,000 viewers (from 6.18m, +3%).

? BIG BROTHER THURSDAY was first in adults 18-34 (2.2/09) and second in households (4.1/08), viewers (7.10m), adults 25-54 (2.9/09, -0.1 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (2.4/09, -0.1 behind ABC). Compared to the same night last year (BIG BROTHER 11 THURSDAY), BIG BROTHER THURSDAY was up +11% in households, +21% in adults 25-54, +26% in adults 18-49 and +38% in adults 18-34.

? BIG BROTHER SUNDAY was first in households (4.1/08), viewers (6.92m), adults 25-54 (3.0/09), adults 18-49 (2.3/08) and adults 18-34 (1.8/07) for the second consecutive week. Compared to BIG BROTHER 11 SUNDAY last year, BIG BROTHER SUNDAY was up +17% in households, +30% in adults 25-54, +21% in adults 18-49 and +13% in adults 18-34.

? CBS had eight of the top 10 scripted series: NCIS; NCIS: LOS ANGELES; THE BIG BANG THEORY; TWO AND A HALF MEN; THE MENTALIST; CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION; CSI: MIAMI and CRIMINAL MINDS.

? THE BIG BANG THEORY and TWO AND A HALF MEN were the top-rated scripted series in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

Top CBS programs of the week: #4 NCIS (R) (an average of 10.21m viewers), #7 NCIS: LOS ANGELES (R) (8.15m), #8 60 MINUTES (R) (7.84m), #10 THE BIG BANG THEORY (R) (7.83m), #12 TWO AND A HALF MEN (R) (7.78m), #13 THE MENTALIST (R) (7.46m), #14 BIG BROTHER 12 THURSDAY (7.10m), #15 BIG BROTHER 12 SUNDAY (6.92m), #18 CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (R) (6.66m), #19 CSI: MIAMI (R) (6.46m), #21 BIG BROTHER 12 WEDNESDAY (P) (6.38m), #22 CRIMINAL MINDS (R) (6.27m), #25 COLD CASE (R) (5.81m) and #26 FLASHPOINT (P) (5.71m).
