According to Deadline.com, CBS has picked up the drama pilot ELEMENTARY, which is described as a "modern-day Sherlock Holmes series". The show will be scripted by Rob Doherty.

ELEMENTARY will offer a modern-day twist on classic cases which will come directly from the pages of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel. In the series, Sherlock will reside in New York City. The show will take advantage of the current popularity of Sherlock Holmes, including the movie franchise starring Robert Downey Jr. and the current BBC series 'Sherlock' which stars Benedict Cumberbatch.

CBS has also announced that it has picked up Sony TV's drama pilot 'Baby Big Shot' which tells the story of a hard working woman who must use her toughness to survive the world of an upscale Manhattan law firm. The comedy comes from Jamie Tarses' Fanfare which is also behind the TNT dramedy 'Franklin & Bash'.
