CBS Orders MADAM SECRETARY, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, THE ODD COUPLE, THE MCCARTHYS & More to Series

CBS has begun announcing its pick-ups for the 2014-15 season.

According to Variety, on the drama front, the network has picked up Morgan Freeman's MADAM SECRETYARY with Tea Leoni, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, SCORPION, and STALKER. Vince Gilligan's BATTLE CREEK previously received a pick up last fall.

On the comedy side, the network has given series orders to THE ODD COUPLE with Matthew Perry, and THE MCCARTHYS.

From Freeman and Barbara Hall, MADAM SECRETARY folllows a maverick female Secretary of State as she drives international diplomacy, wrangles office politics and balances a complex family life. Tim Daly, Bebe Neuwirth, and Patina Miller co-star.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS stars Scott Bakula, and focuses on the NCIS New Orleans office which handles cases from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle. New Orleans with its rich setting of music, fun and debauchery is a magnet for military personnel on-leave. And with fun comes trouble!

SCORPION follows an eccentric genius and his international network of super-geniuses who form the last line of defense against the complex threats of the modern age. Elyes Gabel and Katharine McPhee star.

STALKER, from Kevin Williamson, stars Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q, andp is sychological thriller that follows two detectives who handle stalking incidents for the Threat Management Unit of the LAPD.

THE ODD COUPLE is a modern take on the classic Neil Simon play, which follows two mismatched roommates, Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon. Sarah Baker and Georgia King co-star.

THE MCCARTHYS, from Brian Gallivan, follows an Irish Catholic, sports-crazed Boston clan and the gay son whose greatest sin is not his sexuality but his desire to spend less time with his family. Laurie Metcalf leads the cast.
