CBS NEWS Delivers Most-Watched Coverage of President's State of the Union Address

CBS News delivered the most-watched primetime coverage of President Barack Obama's final STATE OF THE UNION Address with viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 12.

CBS News' coverage was #1 overall and delivered 6.89 million viewers, more than a quarter of a million more viewers than its nearest competitor.

CBS EVENING NEWS Anchor and Managing Editor Scott Pelley, CBS THIS MORNING co-host Norah O'Donnell and FACE THE NATION Anchor and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson led CBS News' live coverage from Washington. They were joined by CBS News Correspondents Margaret Brennan from the White House; Nancy Cordes from Capitol Hill; and Major Garrett with reaction from the campaign trail. Also featured on the coverage were CBS News Political Analyst and Slate Chief Political Correspondent Jamelle Bouie and Michael Gerson, columnist at The Washington Post.

CBS News' primetime coverage was part of an all-platform approach, which included CBSN, CBS News' 24/7 digital streaming news network; CBS Radio News; CBSNews.com; and Newspath, the Network's affiliate newsgathering service.
