CBS Holds Most Viewers in Scripted Programs for 2nd Week

In a week that included the Fourth of July holiday weekend, CBS placed first in viewers for the second consecutive week with eight of the top 10 scripted programs, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending July 4, week 41 of the 2009-2010 television year.

CBS had eight of the top 10 scripted series: NCIS; TWO AND A HALF MEN; NCIS: LOS ANGELES; THE MENTALIST; THE BIG BANG THEORY; CSI: MIAMI; CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION and THE MENTALIST 8:00 PM SPECIAL.

TWO AND A HALF MEN was the week's top scripted program in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. THE BIG BANG THEORY was the week's #2 scripted program in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

FLASHPOINT won its Friday time period in viewers for the fifth consecutive week while CBS's annual BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR finished first in its Sunday time slot in viewers and adults 18-49.

For the week in viewers: CBS (5.61m), NBC (4.71m), ABC (4.54m) and FOX (4.06m). Summer-to-date among viewers: CBS (6.51m), ABC (6.59m), NBC (5.46m) and FOX (5.07m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS averaged 1.6/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.1/04 in adults 18-49.

For the week in households: CBS (3.7/07), NBC (3.0/06), ABC (2.9/06) and FOX (2.5/05). Summer-to-date among households: CBS (4.3/08), ABC (4.1/07), NBC (3.4/06) and FOX (3.1/06).

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

? FLASHPOINT was first in households (3.6/07) and viewers (5.57m); it was second in adults 25-54 (1.5/05, -0.1 behind NBC) and adults 18-49 (1.0/04, -0.2 behind NBC). FLASHPOINT won its time slot in viewers for the fifth consecutive week.

? MIAMI MEDICAL was first in households (3.8/08) and viewers (5.84m) and second in adults 25-54 (1.5/05).

? BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTULAR (S) finished first in households (4.2/10), viewers (6.73m) and adults 25-54 (1.5/06), tying for first in adults 18-49 (0.9/04, with NBC). Compared to last year's special, BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTULAR was up +7% in adults 25-54 (from 1.4/06) and even in adults 18-49.
