CBS Finishes 2017 - 2018 Broadcast season with 11 Consecutive Weekly Wins

CBS Finishes 2017 - 2018 Broadcast season with 11 Consecutive Weekly Wins  Image

CBS finished the 2017-2018 broadcast season by winning 11 consecutive weeks. Additionally, The Network won six nights last week according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending May 20, while beating its closest competition by more than +1.5 million viewers (6.58m versus 5.04m) and claiming 12 of the week's top 20 programs - more than all other broadcast networks combined. When the 2017-2018 broadcast season officially ends next Wednesday, CBS will retain the crown as "America's Most-Watched Network" for the 10th straight season (and 15th out of the last 16).

For the week, CBS had four of the week's top eight broadcasts - NCIS (#1), NCIS: NEW ORLEANS (#3), 60 MINUTES (#5) and NCIS: LOS ANGELES (#8) - and 12 of the top 20: SURVIVOR (#11), THE BIG BANG THEORY ENCORE (#13), YOUNG SHELDON ENCORE (#14), HAWAII FIVE-0 (#15), MADAM SECRETARY (#17), SEAL TEAM (#18), THE BIG BANG THEORY 8PM ENCORE SPECIAL (#19) and S.W.A.T. (#20). The Network also had the most-watched prime broadcast on Tuesday (NCIS), Wednesday (SURVIVOR), Friday (HAWAII FIVE-0), Saturday (ROYAL ROMANCE: THE MARRIAGE OF PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE) and Sunday (60 MINUTES).

On Monday, ELEMENTARY was first in viewers (4.43m).

On Tuesday, CBS was first in viewers (10.53m) as NCIS led the way as the night's most-watched program with 12.71 million viewers. From 9:00-11:00 PM, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS was also first in viewers (9.44m), adults 25-54 (1.4/05) and adults 18-49 (0.9/04) with the two-hour season four finale. NCIS: NEW ORLEANS also posted its largest audience since Nov. 14, 2017.

On Wednesday, CBS was first in viewers (6.55m) and won every half-hour in that demo. SURVIVOR (8:00-9:00 PM) was first in viewers (7.54m) and adults 25-54. SURVIVOR was the night's #1 program in viewers for the 11th time in the last 12 weeks. At 9:00 PM, SEAL TEAM was first in viewers (6.13m), while CODE BLACK at 10:00 PM was also first in viewers (5.95m), adults 25-54 (1.2/04) and adults 18-49 (0.8/03). CODE BLACK scored season-best deliveries in these measures. Compared to last week, CODE BLACK added +920,000 viewers (from 5.03m, +18%).

On Thursday, with some encore episodes, CBS still finished first in viewers (6.14m) and adults 25-54 (1.5/06). Originals included a special LIFE IN PIECES at 9:00 PM that finished first in viewers (5.56m) and adults 25-54 (1.5/05), while the season finale of LIFE IN PIECES at 9:30 PM was also first in in viewers (4.95m, tie). At 10:00 PM, the season finale of S.W.A.T. was first in viewers (6.03m), adults 25-54 (1.4/05) and adults 18-49 (0.9/04). S.W.A.T. posted its largest audience since Feb. 1. Compared to last week, S.W.A.T. also added +490,000 viewers (from 5.54m, +9%).

On Friday, CBS also won in viewers (5.63m) for the 26th Friday this season and was first in every half-hour. At 8:00 PM, UNDERCOVER BOSS: CELEBRITY EDITION was first in viewers (4.60m), tied for first in adults 25-54 (1.0/04) and second in adults 18-49 (0.6/03, -0.1 behind FOX). At 9:00 PM, the HAWAII FIVE-0 season finale was first in viewers (6.62m) and was the night's #1 program in viewers. At 10:00 PM, an encore of BLUE BLOODS was first in viewers (5.66m).

On Saturday, the Network was first in viewers (4.42m) as ROYAL ROMANCE: THE MARRIAGE OF PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE from 8:00-10:00 PM was first in viewers (4.69m) and was Saturday's most-watched non-sports prime program. At 10:00 PM, 48 HOURS was first in viewers (3.89m) and adults 25-54 (0.8/03, tie).

On Sunday, CBS was first in viewers (7.55m) with 60 MINUTES leading the way as Sunday's most-watched primetime program (8.36m). The NCIS: LOS ANGELES two-hour season finale (8:00-10:00 PM) was first in viewers (7.82m). Compared to last week, NCIS: LOS ANGELES added +500,000 viewers (from 7.32m, +7%) and posted its largest audience since April 8. At 10:00 PM, the MADAM SECRETARY season finale was second in viewers (6.22m). MADAM SECRETARY posted its largest audience since March 11.
