Saturday's broadcast featured Maureen Maher and 48 HOURS investigation into the murder of a family in Oregon and a killer who went on the run in Mexico while assuming the identity of former New York Times writer Michael Finkel. The case was so strange that Hollywood has made a movie based on the case called "True Story" that stars James Franco and Jonah Hill. The story is set in 2001, when Frankel got a call from a journalist in Oregon asking if he knew Christian Longo. Longo, it turns out, had been arrested for killing his wife and children. Longo then went on the run and took on Frankel's name. At the time, Frankel's life was a mess, having lost his job at the Times for fabricating parts of a story.Videos
