The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to post double-digit percentage gains in adults 25-54 (+13%, 1.7/06 from 1.5/06) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - and added more viewers than its competitors (+3%, 7.83m from 7.63m), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Feb. 12.
The
CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY gained +200,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.
Season-to-date, the
CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is also the only network evening news broadcast to both add viewers (+3%, 7.60m from 7.35m) and maintained its rating in adults 25-54 (1.5/06) compared to last season.
Last week, Scott Pelley interviewed Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders; Gayle King discussed her Oval Office interview with President Obama; Dr. Jon LaPook interviewed the
DOCTOR WHO found the link between the Zika virus and birth defects; Jim Axelrod investigated a company's claims that a blood test can detect early cancer; a team of correspondents covered the New Hampshire primary; and Kris Van Cleave looked at the TSA's new training academy.
