The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to post gains in the key adults 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Feb. 5.
The
CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +7% (1.6/06 from 1.5/06) in adults 25-54 - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - while its competitors posted double-digit percentage declines (-10%, both
NBC and ABC) compared to the same week last year.
Season-to-date, the
CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY gained the most viewers (+4%, 7.59m from 7.33m) among the network evening news broadcasts and maintained its rating in adults 25-54 (1.5/06) compared to last season.
Last week's broadcasts featured extensive coverage of the Iowa caucus; Dr. Jon LaPook's reporting from Brazil on the Zika virus; Michelle Miller's coverage of security preparations ahead of
SUPER BOWL 50; and Holly Williams' look at a new offensive launched by the Syrian regime around the city of Aleppo.
