CBS EVENING NEWS Up +11% Year-to-Year in Viewers

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +11% year-to-year in viewers (6.61m from 5.98m), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending June 5. The CBS broadcast added +630,000 viewers and closed the viewership gap with NBC by 630,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY maintained its rating in adults 25-54 (1.2/05) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - compared to last year.

Season-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +2% in viewers (7.19m from 7.03m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/06) compared to last season.

On last week's broadcasts, CHARLIE ROSE interviewed former CIA director Gen. David Petraeus on what the U.S. needs to do to defeat ISIS; Clarissa Ward spoke with two captured Russian soldiers in Ukraine, one of whom said he was sent there on a secret mission; Dr. Jon LaPook was there to report on the first conjoined twin separation in Haiti; Major Garrett and Jeff Pegues reported on China-based hackers suspected of breaking into U.S. government computer networks; and Steve Hartman went "On the Road" and found library with no books.
