The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted the largest year-to-year percentage gain in viewers (+10%, 6.58m from 5.99m) among the network evening news broadcasts, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending August 7.
The
CBS broadcast added +590,000 viewers and maintained its rating in adults 25-54 (1.2/06) - the demographic most important to those who advertise in news - compared to the same week last year.
Television year-to-date, the
CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +3% in viewers (7.05m from 6.82m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/06) compared to last year.
On last week's broadcasts, Elizabeth Palmer reported how ISIS is recruiting children to fight in Syria; Michelle Miller interviewed the new interim police chief of Ferguson, Mo.; Ben Tracy covered California's Rocky Fire; David Begnaud and Anna Werner had the latest on the Tennessee movie theater shooting; and John Dickerson and Major Garrett covered the GOP presidential debate.
