According to The Hollywood Reporter, the CBS network will not move forward with Ilene Chaiken's 'Quean' pilot. The project, which followed the story of a female computer hacker who assisted the Oakland police in solving crimes, has now been shut down.
According to the report, the network may have tabled the pilot due to the fact that the plot was too similar to Sony's blockbuster film "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". It was only a month ago that Chaiken received the greenlight from CBS for the new series. Chaiken's Showtime series, 'The L Word', is set to return for a season three.
CBS currently has seven drama pilots in the works for the upcoming season including a Ralph Lamb project starring Dennis Quaid and Mira Sorvino’s Trooper.
