"CARRY ON" POSTERS & ORIGINAL ARTWORK TO BE SOLD IN UK AUCTION

Original artwork from Carry On Spying (1964) and Carry On Cowboy (1965) will go under the hammer with an estimate of £2,000 - 3,000 and £3,000 - 5,000 respectively

Both artwork pieces were illustrated by legendary British cinema poster designer, Tom Chantrell of Star Wars fame

The auction will feature posters to suit a variety of budgets, including a UK Quad poster from Carry on Doctor (1967) estimated between £200 - 300

Prop Store's Cinema Poster Live Auction on Thursday 28th June will feature a collection of film posters and original artwork worth over £250,000

A preview exhibition presenting over 185 auction lots will take place between 22nd - 28th June 2018 at the BFI IMAX in Waterloo, London

Mike Bloomfield, Prop Store's Poster Consultant, commented on the upcoming auction - "Carry On" films were hugely popular in their time and the posters are now collected avidly. We are proud to offer rare original "Carry On" artworks among over-400 lots at Prop Store's Cinema Poster Live Auction on 28th June at London's BFI IMAX."

The Prop Store Live Auction will feature posters from "Carry On" films including:

Carry On Follow That Camel UK Quad Poster (1967) Estimate £200 - 300

Carry On Screaming UK Quad Poster (1966) Estimate £500 - 700

Carry On Doctor UK Quad Poster (1967) Estimate £200 - 300

Carry On Spying UK Quad Poster (1964) Estimate £400 - 600

Carry On Spying Quad Poster Artwork (1965) Estimate £3,000 - 5,000

Carry On Cowboy UK 1-Sheet Poster Artwork (1964) Estimate £2,000 - 3,000

The auction will be live-streamed online for fans to track the bidding on auction day. Registration and bidding is now open. Bids can be placed online at www.propstore.com/liveauction, over the phone or in person.

The free exhibition is open to the public at the BFI IMAX, Waterloo, London, England SE1 8XR from 10:00am to 9:30pm, 22nd - 28th June 2018. Prop Store's Cinema Poster Live Auction, will also take place at the BFI IMAX Waterloo on Thursday 28th June 2018 from 12:00pm
