Netflix has reportedly enlisted Drew Goddard as showrunner for its upcoming series based upon Marvel's beloved superhero DAREDEVIL.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and LOST writer, who recently helmed Joss Whedon's CABIN IN THE WOODS, is nearing a deal to write and run the series, which was announced to be a part of a slew of live-action shows following four of Marvel's most popular characters, which would lead into an eventual miniseries.
Representatives for Goddard, Marvel, and Netflix declined to comment on THR's report.
Daredevil's spin on television will be followed by series following Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel's "The Defenders" mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
DAREDEVIL is slated for a 2015 release on Netflix.
