Deadline.com has reported that Disney is beginning production on 'Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure,' a spin-off from the popular 'High School Musical.'  According to the report, the film deals with Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), who attempts to make it on Broadway; however, her dog gets a job before she does.

The film will be directed by Michael Lembeck. In addition to the previously announced Tisdale, the film will feature, according to the article, Austin Butler as film student Peyton Leverett, Bradley Steven Perry as Sharpay's enemy, Cameron Goodman as a successful Broadway actress, Alec Mapa as a director, and Jack Plotnick as a writer.  Deadline has also reported that the film will debut on the Disney Channel in 2011 and will include four new songs by Randy Petersen and Kevin Quinn, Matthew Tishler and Amy Powers, and David Lawrence and Faye Greenberg.

Ashley Michelle Tisdale (born July 2, 1985) is an American actress, singer and television producer who rose to prominence portraying the candy-counter girl Maddie Fitzpatrick in Disney Channel's 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody' and the female antagonist Sharpay Evans in the 'High School Musical' film series. Her role as Evans required her to perform several songs in the film series' soundtracks. Tisdale became the first female artist to debut with two songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100, in the week of February 12, 2006, with "What I've Been Looking For" and "Bop to the Top", both songs from the first High School Musical soundtrack.

After her first High School Musical appearance, she signed with Warner Bros. Records and launched a solo music career. Her debut album Headstrong, was released in February 2007, debuted at number five in the U.S. chart with 64,000 copies sold in the first week and was later certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. A second studio album, Guilty Pleasure, was released in 2009. Tisdale has also a prominent voice role as Candace Flynn in Disney Channel's Phineas and Ferb and starred in the 2008 television film Picture This and in the 2009 feature film Aliens in the Attic.
