Thank Philo T. Farnsworth that someone invented DVR and streaming video, because otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do tonight. One of the best shows on TV airs at the same time as one of Broadway's biggest stars gets to live out her dream on national television. Good thing Wednesday's "But, Wait! What's On TV Tonight?" picks are here to help you navigate the crowded TV landscape tonight; from reality shows, to classic Halloween cartoons, to nightmare inducing dramas, to LAURA BENANTI HANGING OUT WITH CONNIE BRITTON!!!!!!! So, what will you be watching tonight?
BWW TV World will bring you a handful of picks from across the TV landscape. So, if you have nothing to do each night, check in with us, and we will tell you the best ways to spend your primetime hours.
For all of the latest goings on in the world of pop culture, check out BUT, WAIT! WHAT? from Chief TV Critic Matt Tamanini here.
All times are Eastern
HELL'S KITCHEN | 8:00-9:00pm | FOX
By: Dylan Siegman | @Dsiggy15
There's nothing better than watching a bunch of chefs try to cook meals that are up to Chef Ramsey's standards and then hearing "It's RAW!!" about 15 times while he punches their undercooked entrees and appetizers. This show is absolutely hilarious and really interesting (and scary at some points) to watch. It is almost the television epitome of schadenfreude. Oh, just don't watch the show while you're hungry.
TOY STORY OF TERROR & IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN | 8:00-9:00pm | ABC
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt
I was really tempted to just make this entire pick "To Infinity and Beyond" and "Wa wa, wa, wa wa wa wa," but I will refrain... for now. It makes me feel ridiculously old to think that the original TOY STORY is almost 20 years old (it was released in 1995!), but seeing its different incarnations on the big screen and TV always makes me feel a little bit younger. And is there anyone in the world that has a heart who doesn't want to get up and dance when they hear the Peanut's piano theme? "To Infinity and Beyond! "Wa wa, wa, wa wa wa wa."
AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW | 10:00-11:00pm | FX
Kara McCoy | @i_got_the_tweet
If you're still reeling from last week's freak fest, join the club. Tonight, a few more freaks are added to the oddball repertoire, including a three-boobed hermaphrodite played by Angela Bassett. I say bring it, because frankly, that woman could be playing a garden hose and she'd still be the fiercest thing on the screen. Also, not to spoil anything, but the episode also includes one of the grossest images this side of the movie TUSK.
NASHVILLE | 10:00-11:00pm | ABC
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt
The only person in the world probably more excited than me about getting to see Laura Benanti bond on screen with Connie Britton, is probably Laura herself. When I talked to her a few weeks ago, she told me tonight's episode was going to have a healthy dose of Sadie Stone; apparently NASHVILLE's newest beauty gets to have a Girls' Day with the Queen of Country, Rayna James. This one might be a good episode to follow @LauraBenanti, and her BFF @ChelseaNachman. They should be a whole lotta fun on Twitter tonight.
So, what are you gonna be watching tonight? What's getting DVRed, and what's get left behind? Let us know in the comments below or on social media.
