Wednesday, October 22nd

All times are Eastern

SURVIVOR: San Juan del Sur - Blood vs. Water | 8:00-9:00pm | CBS
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt

Before BIG BROTHER, before AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR, before NAKED AND AFRAID, there was SURVIVOR, I remember my friend Brent having a party at his house to watch the first ever Season Finale, complete with a deserted island-themed cake. However, since I didn't watch any of the season, I had no idea why the fat guy who refused to wear clothes was going to win. Nowadays, SURVIVOR features Broadway's former Spiderman Reed Kelly, much better to watch than Richard Hatch.

MODERN FAMILY | 9:00-9:30pm | ABC
By: Matt Smith

The new neighbors are moving in on this week's MODERN FAMILY! Andrea Anders and Steve Zahn move in next to door to the Dunphys, and considering they're billed as recurring guest stars, they'll be here for a while. Oh, yeah. And we're also introduced to Lily's strict, new teacher. Played by (guess who?) Broadway's TYNE DALY. Think we can get a CAGNEY & LACEY/TREME crossover?

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW | 10:00-11:00pm | FX
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt

If you have read my reviews of the first two weeks of this season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY (I'll just leave these right here in case you haven't: Week 1 and Week 2), then shame on you. Three hours in, Ryan Murphy and company have conjured up an incredibly entertaining and disturbing universe that also might have socially-conscious undertones. This week we finally meet Emma Roberts' fortune-teller and Wes Bentley's mysterious Edward Mordrake; I see some drama in our future! I also see a cover of Lana Del Rey in our future. I will be watching tonight, and depending on what happens, I might even write about the episode. So, make sure to share your thoughts with me on Twitter!

NASHVILLE | 10:00-11:00pm | ABC
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt

I have long claimed that NASHVILLE and REVENGE were my two TV guilty pleasures, but with the latter not only jumping the shark, the dolphin, the orca, the duck-billed platypus, and the narwhal, I am going to stick with our favorite country-music soap-opera. Between pregnancies, love-triangle, and LAURA FREAKING BENANTI, what's not to love?

So, what are you gonna be watching tonight? What's getting DVRed, and what's get left behind? Let us know in the comments below or on social media.
