The Television Critics Association has announced that 'Breaking Bad' star and three-time Emmy award winner Bryan Cranston will serve as host of this year's 28th Annual Television Critics Association Awards. The ceremony is set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on July 28.

In making the announcement, TCA presiedent Candace Havens commented, “Bryan is the perfect host for the TCA’s annual awards show. As professional television journalists we’ve recognized his performances through the years as both a comedic and dramatic star. In fact, we honored his work in 2009 with a TCA Award for his role on Breaking Bad. But, as TV fans we’ve laughed along with some of his hilarious characters like Hal in Malcolm in the Middle and Dr. Tim Whatley on Seinfeld. We’re all thrilled that he will headline our awards this year."

Leading this year's nominations are Showtime's 'Homeland' with four nods, followed by the AMC drama series 'Breaking Bad' and 'Mad Men' with three nominations each.
