According to Deadline, Britt Robertson has signed on to join Eddie Murphy in the upcoming film COOK. Bruce Beresford, who helmed DRIVING MISS DAISY, has been tapped to direct the film, written by Susan McMartin.

The film tells "the tale of a cook hired by a dying man to make meals for his girlfriend and his daughter after he passes. Eddie Murphy is set to play the titular Henry Church, an artistic man who agrees to care for the dying Marie Brody and her daughter Charlotte for six months, only to end up ingrained in their lives for the next six years as Marie battles cancer."

Robertson will play Charlotte.

Robertson's upcoming projects include White Rabbit, Delivery Man and Undiscovered Girl. Her past film credits include The First Time, THE FAMILY Tree, Scream 4, Dan in Real Life, Mother and Child, and more, as well as roles in the TV series Swingtown, Life Unexpected, The Secret Circle and Under the Dome.

She'll next be seen in Tomorrowland and Cake, and recently wrapped production on the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' THE LONGEST RIDE, opposite Scott Eastwood.
