As CNN reported earlier, "it is increasingly clear that Lester Holt is going to stay in the "NBC Nightly News" anchor chair. But that doesn't mean Brian Williams is out of a job.

CNN Money writes that Williams will return in a "new role" after his six-month suspension ends in August. The former "Nightly" anchor has reportedly reached a deal with NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke and NBC News chair Andy Lack.

According to The New York Times, Williams "is expected to move to a new role primarily at the cable news network MSNBC, probably in a breaking-news capacity in the beginning."

Williams was suspended after ten years at the helm of "Nightly" for his false reporting several years ago on a war-related story.

Despite the controversy, "NBC Nightly News" has remained the most-watched nightly news broadcast in the country.
