In anticipation of START-UPS: SILICON VALLEY, executive produced by Randi Zuckerberg and premiering on Monday, November 5, Bravo Media today launched Silicon Valley Status (SVS), a dynamic digital initiative that lets fans see how their social influence stacks up against the Valley's rising stars.
Silicon Valley Status centers on a digital hub housed at SiliconValleyStatus.com, which fans can access to discover their own SVS, obtain pointers for increasing their score and see how they stack up against the masses, Bravolebrities or just their inner circle. The SVS score is based on three social factors: Popularity, Influence and the "It" Factor and analyzes a fan's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram presence to create and assign an overall rating.
"We built this campaign on the insight that being successful in Silicon Valley isn't just about having the next big idea," said Ellen Stone, Bravo's SVP of marketing. "Someone's popularity, ability to pitch, friends, and the way they're perceived online all play a vital role. We've taken this 'whole package' idea and transformed it into a way of directly bringing our viewers into that experience."
Fans can also browse the site for videos, which feature insider tips straight from the entrepreneurial cast of "Start-Ups: Silicon Valley," themed around ways to improve one's SVS. Tutorials include promoting a positive social media image, how to get more re-tweets or capture a great profile picture.
Additionally, Bravo is bringing Silicon Valley Status to the physical world by adding six leadership scoreboards along US Highway 101, in the form of digital roadside billboards. Positioned in between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, the billboards will dynamically display featured users with high SVS scores from Nov. 5-11. Upon registering for SiliconValleyStatus.com, fans will automatically be entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win a ticket to the series' exclusive VIP premiere party on November 4 in San Francisco - and the opportunity to meet and schmooze with the entrepreneurial stars of "Start-Ups: Silicon Valley."
"Start-Ups: Silicon Valley" premieres Monday, November 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT and explores the intertwining lives of a group of young entrepreneurs on the path to becoming Silicon Valley's next great success stories. The cast includes Sarah Austin, Dwight Crow,
Kim Taylor,
David Murray and brother and sister duo Ben and Hermione Way, all with their own unique perspective on the future of technology, business and how to get ahead in the most competitive culture in the country. While trying to find balance amidst their complicated social network they discover that in the fast-paced world of Silicon Valley, success and failure can come and go with just a simple keystroke.
