Bravo Names New VP, Current Production

Bravo Media announces the promotion of Rachel Smith to Senior Vice President, Current Production, Bravo. The announcement was made today by Shari Levine, Executive Vice President, Current Production, Bravo to whom she reports. Based in New York, Smith joined Bravo in 2013 as Vice President, Current Production and currently oversees several hit series for the network including "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," "Don't Be Tardy...," "Newlyweds: The First Year," and "Manzo'd With Children." Currently, she is spearheading the two newly announced additions to the Housewives franchise, "The Real Housewives of Potomac" and "The Real Housewives of Dallas," as well as the luxury travel docu-series "Tour Group," all set to premiere in 2016.

"Rachel's innovative approach to storytelling and ability to create groundbreaking, high-quality programming has made her an invaluable asset to the production team," said Shari Levine, Executive Vice President, Current Production, Bravo Media. "She continues to be instrumental in producing brand defining content that helps Bravo rank as a Top Ten cable entertainment network."

Prior to joining Bravo, Smith was Vice President, Original Programming at BBC America where she spearheaded the unscripted development and production of original series including the Emmy-nominated show "Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan," "Royally Mad with Cat Deeley," "Richard Hammond's Crash Course," "The Nerdist with Chris Hardwick" and "Almost Royal," along with numerous specials around the "Planet Earth," "Top Gear" and "Doctor Who" franchises. Before BBC America, Smith held the role of Executive Producer, Production & Development at Discovery Fit and Health, Planet Green and Vice President, Development & Production, Scripted Programming at IFC TV. While at IFC, she developed and executive produced various scripted comedies including, "The Whitest Kids You Know," "Bollywood Hero with Chris Kattan" and "The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman."

Smith is originally from Australia and received her Masters in Media Studies at The New School.
