As first reported on Deadline.com, Bradley Whitford will co-star in the upcoming Fox drama pilot THE ASSET. The actor will join previously announced cast member Ali Larter in the project.
Josh Friedman will write and executive produce the pilot which will be directed by Neil Burger. The story follows Anna King (Larter), described as "a remarkably gifted globe-trotting photographer with a secret life: she a CIA field operative." Whitford will portray the character Leo, the Station Chief of the New York City CIA who is a big supporter of King.
Whitford was recently seen in the Hallmark Hall Of Fame movie 'Have A Little Faith'. He will soon be featured in the upcoming film 'The Cabin in the Woods', co-starring Josh Whedon.
The actor starred on Broadway in Boeing Boeing and A Few Good Men. He rose to television fame as Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman on the The West Wing, which he began with the show's premiere in 1999. For that role, he won an Emmy in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Whitford also wrote two episodes of the series ("Faith Based Initiative" in the sixth season and "Internal Displacement" in the seventh). Since The West Wing ended in May 2006, Whitford has appeared in West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin's later series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip playing the role of Danny Tripp. He also appeared in the British drama Burn Up on the BBC
