As first reported in the Huffington Post, 'West Wing' star Bradley Whitford will be guest starring on an upcoming episode of the NBC comedy PARKS AND RECREATION.

The actor, who portrayed Josh Lyman on the long-running political NBC drama, will play the departing councilman of the fictional town of Pawnee. The majority of this season's story arc has involved a heated political campaign for the soon to be vacated seat between Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope and her rival Bobby Newport, played by guest star Paul Rudd.

According to the report, the episode will be titled, 'Live Ammo' which is the identical name of an episode of the 'West Wing' in which the show's Ainsley Hayes wrote a proposition paper which caused the president to quickly change his mind on an important issue.

Whitford starred on Broadway in Boeing Boeing and A Few Good Men. He rose to television fame as Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman on the The West Wing, which he began with the show's premiere in 1999. For that role, he won an Emmy in 2001 for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Whitford also wrote two episodes of the series ("Faith Based Initiative" in the sixth season and "Internal Displacement" in the seventh). Since The West Wing ended in May 2006, Whitford has appeared in West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin's later series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip playing the role of Danny Tripp. He also appeared in the British drama Burn Up on the BBC
