Bradley Cooper to Star in WWI-Era Cop Drama DARK INVASION

AMERICAN HUSTLE's Bradley Cooper has just lined up his next gig.

According to The New York Post, the Oscar nominee is attached to star in the big screen adaptation of Howard Blum' upcoming WWI-era novel DARK INVASION, which Warner Bros. recently nabbed the rights to. Taylor Sheridan will pen the script.

"It's a true story about the hunt for the first terrorist cell in America," Blum told The Post's Richard Johnson. "It's 1915 and a cell of German spies are spreading anthrax, and they explode a bomb in the US Capitol Building and shoot the nation's richest man, J.P. Morgan Jr. A special squad of New York cops, headed by Tunney, is formed to hunt them down. And it's all true."

HarperCollins will publish DARK INVASION on Feb. 11.

Cooper was last seen in AMERICAN HUSTLE, directed by David O. Russell, as well as SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. Last year, Cooper starred alongside Ryan Gosling in Derek Cianfrance's thriller, THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. Recently, Cooper signed a two-year, first-look deal with Warner Brothers announcing his Production Company, 22 & Indiana Pictures.

Cooper also reprised his role alongside Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha in the sequels to THE HANGOVER.
