Fresh off announcing the financing of their diamond heist action film Foolproof, and on the eve of Wesley Snipes' Gallowwalkers, Lionsgate's domestic summer release August 6th, Boundless Pictures' co-founders and producing partners Courtney Lauren Penn and Brandon Burrows announced another addition to the Boundless Pictures production schedule - they have optioned the movie Timeless.
Timeless is written by The Zombie Diaries trilogy writer-director Michael Bartlett who found commercial success when he wrote and sold the first two 'Diaries' to the Weinstein Company.
Set in London in a crime-ridden, dystopian future, Timeless is the story of a time-traveling hit-man fatally addicted to a street drug that allows for the time-travel. The godfather of the crime world he is a part of sets up a time-bending life-or-death chess game with him, exacting hits from him by dangling the ultimate lure: the ability to travel back to right the one wrong that haunts him - his inability to save the life of his first love.
"Addiction alters inner perceptions, influences the mind and plays interesting games with memory - Michael's script brings that interior struggle to life with pulse-pounding action. We have worked with Michael before and look forward to this adventure. With 'Gallowwalkers' release August 6th and 'FoolProof' in pre-production, the timing couldn't be better to add Timeless to our company slate," said Boundless Pictures co-Founder Courtney Lauren Penn.
Writer/Director Bartlett said: "I worked with Brandon Burrows and Courtney Penn recently on another film and the initiative and Passion they demonstrated convinced me they were the right team to lead this project."
Boundless Pictures has a penchant for mind-bending story lines. GAMAN, an action/drama about an chess-playing Nazi Hunting amnesiac is also in development.
