The new film Must Come Down by up and coming filmmaker Kenny Riches will take place tonight, September 24 at 8pm at Boise Contemporary Theater, 854 Fulton St, in downtown Boise. Tickets are $10 and are available online at BCTheater.org or by calling 331-9224 x205.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with Kenny Riches (writer/director), David Fetzer (lead actor), Cara Despain (production design/additional wardrobe), and Paul Chamberlain (co-producer/actor). It has previously been shown at the Cinequest Festival in San Jose, the Phoenix Film Festival, Newport Beach Festival, Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival and the Salt Lake Film Festival.

Holly (Ashly Burch) and Ashley (David Fetzer), both in the midst of individual quarter-life crises, meet by chance when their peculiar activities intersect at the same bus stop. Ashley, in his late twenties, quit his job to travel in search of internal clarity—stopping along the way to visit his childhood home with an ulterior motive to break in for the nostalgic rush. Holly, in her early twenties, is mourning the loss of an immature and short-lived relationship with her restaurant manager who ultimately fired her, leaving her jobless and directionless as well as heartbroken. Both struggling to move on from the past, Holly and Ashley share brief, strange, and juvenile misadventures as they compare and contrast, and commiserate as grown-up children stumbling through life’s final bout of growing pains.

Kenny Riches is an artist and filmmaker born in Toyota City, Japan, and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has exhibited his artwork nationally, most recently at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Jancar Gallery Los Angeles, and the Torrance Art Museum. This is his third film project working with Patrick Fugit and David Fetzer, and his first feature length film.
