Bobby Cannavale and Dustin Hoffman Sign On For Jon Favreau's CHEF

ComingSoon.net reports that Bobby Cannavale and Dustin Hoffman have joined Jon Favreau's comedy CHEF, directed, written and starring Favreau alongside Sofia Vergara, Scarlett Johansson, John Leguizamo and Robert Downey, Jr., for Open Road Films and Aldamisa Entertainment.

Chef is the story of Carl Casper (Favreau), who loses his chef job and cooks up a food truck business in hopes of reestablishing his artistic promise. At the same time, he tries to reconnect with his estranged family.

Cannavale appeared onstage this season in The Big Knife. His other Broadway credits include Glengarry Glen Ross, The Motherf**ker with the Hat and Mauritius, as well as off-Broadway's Trust, Hurlyburly, fing A and A Flea in Her Ear.

Cannavale's next projects include the films Ball Two and Imagine. Past big screen credits include Blue Jasmine, Lovelace, Parker, Roadie, The Other Guys, Snakes on a Plane, Shall We Dance and more. Cannavale has appeared on TV in Nurse Jackie, Boardwalk Empire, Blue Bloods, Cold Case, Cupid, Will & Grace, Kingpin, Ally McBeal, 100 Centre Street, Third Watch and Trinity.

Hoffman's Broadway credits include The Merchant of Venice, Death of a Salesman, Jimmy Shine, The Subject was Roses and A Cook for Mr. General.

Hoffman's upcoming films include The Contortionist's Handbook, The Song of Names and Kung Fu Panda 3. He has recently appeared in the TV series Luck, and his film credits include Little Fockers and Meet the Fockers, Stranger Than Fiction, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Finding Neverland, American Buffalo, Hook, Rain Man, Tootsie, Kramer vs. Kramer, Straw Dogs, The Graduate and more.

Producers are Karen Gilchrist and Aldamisa's Sergei Bespalov. Production begins this month in Los Angeles. Open Road Films will release the movie nationwide Mother's Day Weekend - May 9, 2014.
